Intervention Approach

Little Minds Speech Therapy offers specialized literacy intervention for students with reading difficulties or dyslexia in Morgantown, West Virginia. By getting to the root of the problem, we move beyond traditional one-size-fits-all interventions to provide therapy tailored to each child’s unique needs. My goal is to build skills and confidence and a growth mindset in every child I work with. Sessions consist of scientific, research-based, and proven methods in order to provide results. I create a reading program that caters to your child’s individual needs. I draw from my speech-language education, in addition to utilizing the Smarter Intervention program which uses a structured Orton Gillingham based approach (which is known as the gold standard of reading instruction for struggling or dyslexic readers) in our reading and writing programs.

Therapy Sessions

Reading sessions are conducted in a one-on-one setting. Each session lasts 60 mins and it is recommended for students to participate in weekly services.

I work in 6-month treatment intervals and provide formal built in progress monitoring assessments and a comprehensive assessment and report at 6-months to evaluate standardized student growth and to determine whether continued support or graduation is most appropriate.
